Is my baby too old for a newborn session?

6 week old newborn

Is my baby too old?

Did you miss the 2 week window? Are you a new mom and overwhelmed by all the things that come with new mom life and you realized you forgot to book newborn photos? Don’t worry we’ve got you! The answer is NO you are not too late! Newborn Sessions are ideally done in the first two weeks, but we make exceptions all the time and can always capture gorgeous images of your sweet baby!

9 weeks!

As long as you are as patient as we are (we are endlessly patient) we can photograph your baby simply and awake, or we can take the time to get them sleepy or bundle them up to create something beautiful! Just the other day we had a mom that wanted our signature dream catcher photo typically done with a sleepy newborn under two weeks old. Well, with an hour and a half of rocking and calming, we got her 9 week old baby to sleep and got the image she wanted. She just ordered a large print and is excited to display this image in her home!

Let’s take the time

We have had success with “newborn” sessions up to 12 weeks old. They may look a little different, not so curly, maybe not so sleepy but we can at any age create beautiful portraits of your baby! They may take a little time to settle, but we are patient if you are!

If you decide you’d like to wait for our next recommended age. We love sitter sessions! These are done between 6 and 9 months when your baby can sit unassisted. We love this age because the are usually chubby and smiley and immobile (can’t quite run at us :) ) They normally haven’t hit stranger danger stage yet so we can get a lot of personality in these images!

You can also wait for a 1 year session. It cake include cake, bathtime and more, or it can be a simple classic baby session. We have lots of options for these type of sessions!

I am a feisty, fun, driven artist with a fierce loyalty to family and friends. I love the Crossfit and the outdoors, but I balance that love with a love of ice cream and Netflix (everything needs balance). My job is the best job around and fabulous hubby and four kids are my biggest cheerleaders. I do all I do for them, just trying to get by like the rest of the world. I love Jesus, and find that love through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I don’t like drama, public speaking or moody teenagers. That’s me in a nutshell…oh and cheese is the best part of life!
